I have Windows Vista Home Premium installed on a Dual-Core 2.13GHz PC. Copying or extracting files (from the same partition) takes a ridiculous time to complete. On a clean install of Vista Ultimate I have had a hour of continuous access to the System Volume Information directory by the System task I seem to have 200GB of hidden System Volume information. Adding up all my directories (inc Windows and Program Files) give approx 60GB. Used space on HD 260GB! What is accessing the System Volume Information directory and how can I stop it.
