Ok I have found the problem and it dates back to Win XP. The OS has locked the account. It can be fixed by editing a key in the registry. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList. Under here you will find some long numbers these are known as the Users SID, if there are a lot of people logged onto the machine there will be a long list in here.(Hopefully not)....

Have latest version of Beta 5744 Ultimate running in Aero mode. The thing is.....in certain situations when I highlight text then right click for copy, nothing happens. Like on an html page, where I could always do that on WinXP. Am I missing something here? Thanks

Help - grovel grovel I have a network of several machines that I backup to a networked 300GB external drive attached to a Windows XP home machine. With the exception of the newly updated Vista machine (it has a dual boot setup) I have no problem. No matter what I do I get a 0x80070534 error when I try to set the back up facility to connect with the network drive.

I notice when you use the backup utility it backs up the Whole computer (each and every drive), and not the individual drive. Is it possible to backup only the drive that Vista is on (ie. C drive)? Also, creating restore points is not available in this build. I get the( "this content is under construction") message. Is it available in 5728 & 5744? Otherwise My 5600 is running well in a duel...

Has anyone got an AV product installed on RC2? I have tried most, none are compatible and Vista wont allow installation. Even MS's own Windows Live AV solution isn't compatible yet... Just a thought, but since people with dual-boot seem to be finding that XP's defragger can cope with Vista formatted disks I wondered if you could copy XP's defragger across to Vista. Presume it would need to be isolated in its own directory together with the XP versions of the appropriate DLL files - but subject to that could it be made to work and restore some form of progress indication...

I just wanted to start the Live One Care Beta but ran into a problem with the version 14 of PCCILLIN. It disconnected the network and locked up the uninstall. I had to turn off the computer to get things back running. So, the PCCILLIN is gone as far as the uninstall program knows but it is still there and preventing me from installing Live One Care. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
