Cannot view System Information (apparently a WMI error) by
Cat Megex
(I am running Vista Home Premium with UAC partially enabled by way of a
registry edit that disables the dialog boxes that pop up whenever you try to
install something, etc. while still allowing things such as file
virtualization)
When trying to view System Information, it displays the System Information
window (meaning the executable or whatever is probably still there), but the

Access to Vista 64-Bit Computer Updates by
Tom461
I recently installed a Windows Vista 64-bit HP Pavilion CPU, and I checked
for windows updates several times the day of installation. It took me two
more days to find out the hard way that I needed two available updates, one
for IE8 on Vista 64-bit and an SP-2 for 64-bit as well. I wonder why I had to
work so hard to find out about these updates, why the ordinary Windows Update
feature did...

Norton Partition Magic 8.X comes with Boot Magic for switching between OS's.
Do you know if this will work for dual booting XP SP2 and Vista, and avoid

Improving disk performance by
jray
My gaming with Windows Vista Ultimate is too slow. The constant disk
activity is slowing down my user applications. My current disk is basic
disk with two primary partitions, one for the OS and one for game data.
Does anyone have a suggestion to boost disk performance?

random - power off, black screen, no auto restart. It's rarely online, and I
do not download stuff off the net, not even music. This highly frustrating
event is random - sometimes after 10 minutes of use, sometimes after a couple
of weeks without...

Laptop Battery Indicator by
Paul Calcagno
On my son's Dell laptop (Vista Home Premium, SP2) his battery indicator icon
has disappeared off his taskbar. I'm sure there's a way to find it and have
it show up in the lower right taskbar location but can't help him find it
since my Vista system is a desktop.
Can anyone help us locate and re-instate this feature?
Thanks............................Paul C.
