Alternating automatic backups between two external hard drives by
John K[_3_]
I have weekly backups going automatically to an external hard drive and just
installed a second external hard drive with the idea of creating alternate
backups midweek. The setup routine for automatic backups seems to allow only
one destination. Is there a way of establishing a second automatic backup to
a different destination than the first?

Shrink problems/partition problems HELP by
TedT
Hi,
I replaced my 160gig hard drive with a 320 Samsung. I used TrueImage to
make a clone and it has been fine for a month. Today I decided to add an XP
partition.
I looked at the exisiting partitions. There was a:
-110meg (EISA use or something),
- a 20gig recovery and
- a 230 main.
- I also saw a 3.99 gig that was healthy but did not appear to be formatted.

Cannot create System Restore point; Windows Update hangs by
JPhilo
My new Vista Business Dell laptop is just a week old but already I'm
having serious OS issues. The entire System Restore system seems to be
hung up and not functioning. For example, if I go to the System
Protection tab in System Properties, in the 'Available Disks' box it
just says "Searching..." and never comes out of that. The System Restore
and Create... (restore point) buttons are greyed out....

DVD RW Drive won't read CD's or DVD's (HELP!!) by
BrentC
I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium and the
DVD RW drive won't work. It's been working fine for over a year and all of a
sudden it makes a God-awful sound when you put a disk in. The
spinning-grinding sound goes on for a while then stops, but the disk is still
unreadable. I am able to eject the disks using the button on the drive.

unable to complete backup to pocket media drive by
raggmopp
I have Windows VISTA Home Premium. When I run "back up files" to a pocket
media drive inserted into the computer's drive bay, it will run to it's about
50% complete, then I get a message that "backup was stopped." Prior to
running the backup, I disabled the antivirus and spyware. Can anyone help me
solve the problem? Thanks.
