Very often after Windows has automatically downloaded updates I lose my

I keep losing restore points! by
TGL
For about a month now,I have been losing restore points every 2-3 days.
I am set up for automatic Windows Updates and any restore points that
appear over a 2-3 day period completely disappear after that period-(I
can only hold restore points for 2-3 days in other words). I do have
plenty of storage left on my hard drive-243 GB free,so I have plenty of
room on my hard drive. I use to retain at...

A BlueScreen problem by
Tfile
I apologize if this is the wrong place for this topic. I shut down my
computer during a windows update and now every time I restart I get a
blue screen message that lasts for about a second and then my computer
restarts itself again. It does this every time. I'm operating in safe
mode right now. I'm sorry if this sounds vague, I'm not very good with
computer terms and stuff, but I'll give more...

I am running an HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC with Windows Vista Home

Irql_not_less_or_equal by
Xzor64
I keep getting this error and the computer is totally new, I just loaded
it up with a few programs (which ran fine on my old machine) and it
started crashing to a blue screen that gives me a IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
error message. I understand it creates some sort of minidump file, if
this is helpful for anyone who might know what this error is and how to
fix it, please let me know.

I cannot generate a system health report by
ImJen
HELLO ALL!
When I try to generate a system health report all I get is the
following error ... "An error occurred while attempting to generate the
report. The system cannot find the path specified."
I don't know how long I had this problem because I haven't tried to
generate a report for almost a year.
Is there a possibility that a file that I need for generating the
report was moved or deleted?...

On Windows Vista Ultimate I made a complete backup using the Backup and
Restore Center ("Back up computer") to a USB 100Gb portable drive. It went
fine, and the drive shows a WindowsImageBackup folder on its root. It totals
about 65Gb. 2 days later that laptop crashed and I got another laptop with
the same Windows Vista Ultimate. I want to restore some selected files

The user profile service failed the logon by
Victek
I started Vista this evening and was greeted with this message when I tried
to log in:
"The user profile service failed the logon"
Fortunately I found a solution involving editing the user SID in the
registry while in SAFE mode. That was a big relief since I was not looking
forward to restoring from an image. I can post the details of the fix if
anyone is curious, but at the moment I'm...

Unable to get Windows Updates by

On a Toshiba with Vista Home Premium, it won't allow Updates to open the
site. Whether from the Start menu, or Microsoft.com. It says Windows
Explorer has a problem and needs to shut down, which closes all windows.
From any access point the same problem occurs trying to get updates. I did
download and install Service Pack 1 and it says it is installed, and only 14
updates are showing in the...

Antispyware solution from Search-and-destroy. by

*I have tried so many different types of scans to help keep my PC

tend to find the same types of bugs. The main difference between them
all is the price that you pay. Recently I discovered Search-and-destroy
Antispyware at _http://www.Search-and-destroy.com_ and I really like it
a lot. Antispyware solution from...
