Windows Photo Gallery (Vista) distorts my incoming faxes when prin by
Don't taze me bro.
I receive faxes to my e-mail as .tiff files.
When printing these faxes, WPG cuts of the bottom of the image and stretches
the rest of the image to fill a landscape page.
I've adjusted the page size, layout, resolution, etc. but still have this
issue.
Images look OK in the main view, but when I click on print, the distortion
begins.
When I select or deselect the 'Fit picture to frame' checkbox,...

how to avoid country code while faxing? by
Ruta
Hi,
I have Vista, and as you all know - it does not have fax. I use Act!
and FaxAdmin. That is the only way I can send faxes. But! When I try to
do that it dials:
country code (81)+ area code+ fax#. But it doesn't work, since I am in
the same country (Japan).
I went though lots of troubles with FaxAdmin support - they blame it
all on Windows. They said I need to check rules in Phone and...

No faxing ! What a surprise! by
Catt
Once again Microsoft shoots itself in the foot it has dribbled on while we
all watch the hourglass icon. It's so typical of you to change something and
not add any value to what you already had. Instead you take it away for no
apparent reason. I'll spend some money on a fax program that I can be sure
of. I would have spent some more of my coin on you but you don't know how to
market your...

Print to File/Output file name issue by
DocD514
How can I stop the "print to file" function? When I go to print, that box
comes up asking me "Output file name"? I simply wish to print. The print to
file box is NOT checked either. I may not be the sharpest knife in the
drawer, but this is making me be even more dull.

HP Color LaserJet 4550 - Networking Windows XP 32-bit (x86) with Widows Vista 64-bit by
pandaking
Hi there,
I currently have a Windows XP (x86) computer running with my "HP Color
LaserJet 4550" printer attached.
It has been working great for ages, and I share it on my network to my
other home computers. All the other computers in my house are also
32-bit.
I recently purchased a new computer which is running 64-bit Windows
Vista.

The fax can't be sent because of an unexpected error by
Stephen Charles Thompson
When I try to send a fax using Windows Fax and Scan I get an error message,
"The fax can't be sent because of an unexpected error". This happens whether
I print to the virtual Fax printer or create a New Fax from within the
Windows Fax and Scan application. After selecting a Message Recipient and
clicking Send there is a delay. During this delay the modem picks up and
drops the phone line...

Vista Business - extremely SLOW printing on network printer by
axjul
This is what the Canon tech support suggests:
"If you didn’t already try, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling the
driver so that you have the antivirus software and firewall off while
installing."
I guess the implication is that the printer should be installed while all
antivirus and firewall software is disabled... so much for making things easy
for the consumer...

Cannot install Canon ip4200 by
cagiestlunatic
For love nor money can I install a Canon ip4200 on a Vista Home system.
Worked fine under XP, I have installed the latest Canon Vista driver
(v2.00, b6C03MUx.exe) then when prompted connected the printer and
switched on, I got an error saying the USB device could not be
installed/not recognised. I have removed the USB ports from Device
Manager which were recreated on reboot - this didn't...

Vista problems printing to XP computer by
Scott927
Hi all,
I've read through the other threads on this and have seen the solutions
suggested, but none of them are working.
1) I have a Lexmark 7350 installed and working on an XP Pro machine.
2) My computer is a Vista Home 64 bit machine.
3) They are successfully networked (I can read/modify files on the XP
machine) so all the networking stuff is set up properly.
4) I have XP drivers installed on...

Fax Error: The message could not be sent. The media is write protected. by
jgarman
This solution worked for Vista 32 Ultimate 32-bit
I've seen several solutions on the web for this error; none worked on
my machine.
Apparently the solution to the Vista "media is write protected" error
in sending a fax is in the registry.
Open regedit (back it up via export)
Go the key:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fax

responding, and the...
