Hi Folks, I have a workgroup of 3 computers. They are all connected to a router. \\DESKTOP has a HP Laserjet 3050 connected to the USB port of the PC and this printer is shared as Laserjet (\\DESKTOP\Laserjet) This PC called DESKTOP is running windows XP. For some reason I cannot connect to the shared printer from the other two workgroup computers LAPTOP1 (Vista) and LAPTOP2 (XP).

In Vista Ultimate the Windows Fax and Scan permits me to edit the fax settings in tools but denies configuration or establishment of a fax account. A message is received to the effect that to set up a fax account it is first necessary to set the fax settings for the modem. That has been done, but I still can't add or configure a fax account with the same modem. What's the problem? -- yottie

Unfortunately, Vista does not allow me to install a printer as easily as XP does. With XP, the printer add-in wizard would allow me to specify a local network printer by specifying its address, eg //computer_name/printer_name. However Vista does not give me the option, it supposedly searches for available printers instead. My problem is that when Vista searches, it does not see the printer.

Does anyone know if HP has yet produced a driver for the 1012 LaserJet for Vista? Many thanks, Peter.
