Hi,
Can anyone help me? I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit OS and am having
problems with Windows Defender shutting itself off without me doing
anything to it. I have read things about Windows Live Care Safety
Scanner causing problems but this doesn't sort out my query as this
scanner does not work with my IE8 browser and so have not got it
installed.
Does anyone have ideas why my Windows...

NORTON 360 Live Update by

I bought norton 360 and hade it for about 2 years and had no problems but up
until recently i got the GREEN AV in my system and it would not come out so i
went into the regestry and got rid of it and through the system and got rid
of that so it does not pop up any more when i turn on the system but now when
ever i use live update on norton 360 it says opperation failed and will not
update...

Task Sheduler doesnot permit to create task with no user login by

Dear Friends ..
I am using windows vista 32 bit enterprise edition. I need to configure
a scheduled task even if no user is logged in. I tried to make a task
but when i select "Run whether user is logged on or not", it asked to
input the Computername\username and password. I logged in as local
administrator and i have keyed in the samew credentials. But i am
getting an error message at this...

I have Vista Ultimate.
Recently I have noticed that my Weborook Antispyware has been catching more
things, including one virus today, and I wonder if it is because I now have
att email (I used to have MSN dialup before) or if it is due to the new
updates made to it after Windows 7 was released, which might have loosened
its security or added new ways for spyware or malware to get in?
Please...

Can't delete file in hidden folder even after changing owner by

I restored my vista OS using a system image utility provided by Alienware.
It created a backup folder on the c drive with all the old files in it,
including user profiles. I changed the owner of all files and folders back
to my account and tried to delete it, but got the UAC messages that I need to
allow administrator rights to do so. After clicking yes, I got a message

Return ICMP port unreachable on nonlistening socket by

Hello,
common TCP/IP implemetations return ICMP port unreachable error packet
when somobody send packet to port where no server is listening. This was
true even in Windows XP.
However Windows Vista Business SP2 behaves differently. It drops the
packet silently even if given port is allowed for incoming communication
in Advanced firewall settings. (And yes, I'm pretty sure it's really
allowed...

the MS One Care fireall, &WILL Not allow the BTS to remain ON. This happened
on this VISTA/VIAO platform only. Our PC, with XP can run REG MECH and get
AUTO UPDATES without shutting down anything.
REG MECH is totally gone form OS now. There's $29.95 gone to cyber space!!

Hi,
I run Vista Premium using Word 2003 and Norton Internet security:
Since updating Last months updates and the various ones since, every time I
start up my computer it tells me that Windows Defender is not turned on; this
is getting a bit much having to turn it on every time I start up my computer.
This never uses to happen, so if anyone can tell me how to overcome this I
would appreciate...

have as one of my items "DT GWY" and under the Manufacturer it says

Hi,
i m using vista premium ome and i get the following error message
everytime I start my computer.
I just close it and continue, but my system is very slow and encounter
unplanned closures and many performence problems.
I tried to check google for this DLL and it does not exist.
Can anybody help me in solving this issue, what should I do?
