why is parental controls blocking all jpeg images by
RocketMom
I have my kid's parental controls web filter set to medium. Every time she
tries to download Yahoo images for reports and such, they are blocked and I
have to type in my password. Can I just give her the ability to open these
jpeg files without compromising web filters?

I've just purchased a shiny new ThinkPad, loaded with Vista Business.
The sales person had already unpacked and set up the OS, naming the machine
and creating a default admin user.
As with XP when first setting that up, I proceeded to rename the Admin

Electronics) said that it came with Windows Vista, the box says it comes with
Windows Vista and the computer says it comes with Windows Vista. Well, I
have tried multiple times to enter the product key on the bottom of the
laptop and it never worked, it just says that the key is incorrect, try
again. But seeing as I hadn't...

Can't access a second hard drive! by
Debbie
I installed my old hard drive as a second hard drive in windows Vista. I put
my old programs on it so I could add my pictures etc to the new hard drive &
then format the old hard drive to use. Big problem, it doesn't matter what I
do to change permissions. I am the administrator & the only user on this
computer. I need to use my second hard drive to get my old stuff off of it.

Fuzzums
When I start my computer up, it comes up with the login screen, showing the 2
login profiles (ie the pictures I have chosen for myself and my husband's
accounts) but as soon as I click on them, where it would normally let you
then type in your password, the egg timer comes up, screen flicks and it then
takes me back to the pictures again, where I first started. I have logged
into safe mode...

No Welcome Screen by
DavidP
I just upgraded to Windows Vista home premium and even though I have added
users the Welcome Screen does not appear. The system automatically logs into
the first account the Administrator which I have renamed. How do I see the
Welcome screen so other users can use the machine?

Logging off a Locked computer as an adminstrator by
madcat
Hi All I've been tearing my hair out on this one. I'm on a domain using a
Vista machine. Under XP, if someone left a computer locked and I needed to
log them off I could do so by entering an administrator user name and
password. You get a warning and if accepted the user is logged off and we're
back to the logon. Job Done!
Vista (help) says an administrator can log someone else off but when...

Cant find my standard user account files when logged in as Admin?? by
DarFromVa
Ok, so i have Vista Ultimate, and per "best practices" i created a Standard
user account, and use that for all my computer work. Well, i wanted to use
the Backup option and backup some files on an external hard-drive, and when i
click on that backup wizard, it tells me i need to log in with my ADMIN
account to do it. Apparently you cannot backup when logged into a standard
account. Ok, so i...
