I am not able to log onto Vista without going thru the whole f11 and then f8 menu and finally getting to the last known good configuration. I've tried going back to a restore point, and turning off auto updates, but it keeps going back to old config; error message reads group policy/unable to logon. My computer is the family one, with two different user accounts. I use programs that the other user never touches, and vice versa. When I delete a shorcut icon on my desktop, it dissapears from the other user's as well, when I add one, ect ect.... Is there a way to stop this "desktop sharing"? I understand that Vista provides views of account activity through the use of Parental Controls, but what if my roomate continually deletes the browsing history and cookies after he uses the computer? I have tried looking at the activity report, but it is blank. Any suggestions?
