Unresponsive User Accounts Controll Pannel by
Ben
I'm simply trying to turn off the User Account Control under User Accounts. I
just now noticed that the link to turn it off as well as every other
administrative-required (denoted by the little shield) are utterly
unresponsive when I click on them. The problem is solely in under the User
Accounts portion of the control pannal. I was wondering if this was a known
bug?

No more administrative powers by
Jordan Carothers
Hello. I've had my laptop for a little over a year now, at for the first
couple months, everything worked fine..But now it seems I have no more
administrative powers. I'm the only account on the laptop however, and I've
never made any other accounts. Whenever I try to start a new program or do
anything with the administrator symbol on it, a message with the dreaded red
X pops up saying "The...

Accidental admin removal by
uldivad9
Ugh... I accidentally set my only administrator account to a different
setting, and now I can't change it back.
I have already read several ways to access an administrator account. I
do not have the hidden admin account enabled, nor do I have my vista cd.
There are no other administrator accounts on my computer.
Is there any possible way that I can get administrative privileges
back?

equate user to administrator by
Ralph[_3_]
I am forever being told that I cannot do something (like use Adobe Flash)
because I have the wrong version of it. When I access Internet as
Administrator, I don't have this problem. How do I equate my signon with
that of the administrator (which was never given a specific definition by me
when setting up Vista)?

Run History registry setting by
Joe Murphy[_2_]
Does anyone know the registry setting to retain the run history when you go
to Start Run?
It is clearing itself and I want to make sure it retains the history.
I know how to do it in the GUI, what I need is the registry key for this.
Thanks,
JM

gaming, one for projects, one for testing/downloads, and one for regular use.
Then I realize I can just make separate user accounts.
But, how do I do this. When i want to install a program on one account, not
make it install on all the other user accounts? Lets say I installed
Microsoft Word on my regular account, I dont...

Using Vista help by
Hike_Mike
How does one formulate a query for help? For instance, I would like to find
if there is information on the task manager page display, CPU useage.
Normally (as in google/yahoo) I would type in :
"Task Manager" +"CPU usage" and get a search, but the quotes and everything
else doesn't seem to get recognized. It seems only to recognize single
words. What is the syntax?
