Hi, I am the sole user on a standalone HP PC, which runs on Vista Home Premium. I found a new user called IUSR_NMPR on my PC whom I did not put there and I do not know. Is it a system set-up user or an intruder? Is it safe to delete it? Thanks a lot for your help!

I tried using Windows Update i.e. the website to install Vista SP1 as the standalone installer is a honkin' 450+ MB in size... so I hit the site, it tells me to use IE instead of FireFox. Ok, I open it in IE and download some ActiveX plugin.. then it tells me I need to be an Administrator. I AM an administrator!! the only one!! tried it from a freshly-created Admin account and no use there...

My fault - can't get SideBar to run by Les[_3_]
Hi I suspect that this problem is of my own making. Sidebar became usable only from my Admin account and I tried altering security settings to try and get it to run from my User account - ended up with: When I run SideBar.exe from my either my User account or my Admin account (only these 2 accounts active on my machine) I get 'Windows Sidebar is managed by your system administrator'

lost password/can't reboot from recovery cd or in safe mode by bainbridge82
Son has a Toshiba laptop..he changed the password and forgot..on suggestion of someone who knows more than me i tried a program called password-changer..used an iso cd and booted off cd.. got into system and to the point of fixing things when program told me that demo version wouldnt do repair..i then tried to just use recovery cd and start anew but now i cant boot off a cd or go to safe...

Ok when I turn my computer on and put in my password to log onto the admin account it tells me my user account didn't load correctly and that they logged me on with a temporary account. What can I do to fix this. All my school work can't be accessed so I need help asap. Thanks

Everytime I have a power failure or have to reboot for any reason my computer resets all settings saying that there is a problem with the current user files. I have tried making a new user file but nothing helps. When this happens I lose some programs that I have on the desktop and also the screen background is changed. VERY ANNOYING.
