Cannot delete file !! Help by akshatm
im working on vista home premium 32bit. i downloaded a flv file which seems to be corrupt. now a cannot delete the file.. i tried deleteing it from the command prompt, tried using the software 'eraser'. i cant even move the file, or rename it or view the file properties. wat shud i do in order to delete it.. any suggestion is welcome. Search for files with parenthesis in name by Erik Wikström
How do I search for files who's name contains a parenthesis? Entering (2) gives me all files containing 2 (which are a couple of houndred, while there should only be two or three with (2) in the name) since the parentheses have a special meaning when searching. Can't delete a file - Access is denied to Administrator by jeff
I have an mpeg file on my local hard drive that I cannot delete. My account is an administrator account, running under vista ultimate. When I look at the file properties I see that the ownership is unassigned (unable to display current owner), but when I attempt to take ownership, windows security reports "Unable to set new owner on . Hi, I'm trying to delete a folder that I "cut and pasted" from a my docs folder (redirected) to another location. Write permission denied on "Program Files" directory. by Octavio[_3_]
Hello, Windows Vista has denied write permission on the "Program Files" directory to Eclipse IDE preventing it to create subdirectories and copying java .class and.war files on it. I did install Eclipse using my administrator account but the problem persist. Do you know what to do ? Many thanks.

How can you make Windows remember the folders setting PERMENANTLY Every time that I reboot it lost the size and type of every single folder, and also the top bar is empty except for the NAME option so I have to redo every single folder which take something like 2 hours so that I could be functional again BTW it even lose the view settings for MY COMPUTER window --

Can't right click on desktop by cmdacos
I can't right click on either the desktop or within Windows Explorer. Either way Windows Explorer hangs, stops working and restarts without me ever seeing the right click menu. Any ideas what's going on?

problem with files from DVD/CD by MCC124
I think I need to tweek something on my PC (Vista home premium). When trying to open folders/ files from a cd (from a magazine for example) all i get is a load of computer jargon, not an ilustration or what ever it should be. Any ideas please? Thanks MCC
