cannot edit comment field why? by james
I bought a song from zune. I want to add text to the file's comment field "bought from zune". However, the comment field cannot be edited. In fact none of the values in the details tab can be edited. When compared to other files that I can edit the comment field, this song file has an additional field called "protected" and is set to yes. I already checked and changed the file security so...

shadow copy roll back started from boot dvd - no log entry by Erhard Glueck
Hello, because roll back action form running windows was not successful (Event VSS 8220) I succeeded in roll back when started after booting from the original VISTA DVD. But if a view in the history of shadow copy snaps I have no entry for the last roll back action. Is there any log, which documents, that a roll back was done?

Files not showing up. by Rod
I'm exasperated, I have tried to set permissions for files and folders setting full control for every category of user. I still cant open PaintShop and save a .bmp that will be visible in another application, Liberty BASIC in this instance. I have a project folder and am trying to save all resources to one location. The file exists and can be retrieved by PaintShop from the resource...

Is Vista updates recommandable before upgrading to Windows 7? by MAT
Is Windows Vista updates recommandable before upgrading to Windows 7? Should I just upgrade directly from Windows Vista in the original edition (after a recovery) and without all the other updates to Windows 7 (saving a lot of time), or is it better to do all Vista updates before upgrading to Windows 7?

Location of Deleted E-Mails by Gene L.
I inadvertently deleted several E-Mail messages some time ago and was wondering if they might still be accessible somewhere on my C-Drive. I am using 2007 Office Outlook and Windows Vista Home Premium. Where might I look to determine if they are still there. I would like to know the path if that is the way to look. Many thanks for the help. Gene L.

Are my files arranged as they should be? by browniebodrum
When I got my Vista Business laptop in spring I had a lot of problems accessing folders which I'd transferred over from my previous laptop which was running XP, and I kept getting messages to say I did not have permission to open the folder (or something like that) even though I am the only user of the Vista machine (as I was on the XP machine) and I have administrator rights in Vista. I'd...

Confused about \[username] folder by yopumpkinhead
Hi all, I just got Vista and am still learning how it works, so please forgive me if this is a simple question. I noticed today when installing some of my software that my folder does not show up when browsing in C:\Users\. The only folders there are Default and Public. My folder is accessible under "Desktop" in the Explore menu, but it is not in C:\Users. Why not, and how do I put it back?

Can't open word docs, excel or other files by Bronze[_2_]
When I click on a file to open on C drive (or an attachment to an email" it says Windows can find (lists the path). Make sure you typed the name correctly then try again. If I cancel this message and double click on the file (or email attachment) again, it then opens it. I have to do this twice for every single file I want to open. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks

Problem opening existing files by clicking by smuthler
My computer has begun giving me an error message when I try to double-click on a filename, in Word and in Excel, particularly. It says "Window cannot find 'C:Users\Steve\AppData..." and then states "Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." It really cramps my ability to access files on my computer at work, from home... Any thoughts? Steve
