WMP11 problems with MP3 ID3 tag data by
examancer
I use a 3rd party program (MP3tag) to update the ID3 information on my MP3
files because it can do several at once. I have about 300 files that I
recently ripped from CD that were missing the ID3 tag information
(technically, most of them had ID3 tags, but it was ID3v2.4 which WMP does
not appear to support). I re-tagged all of the files with both ID3v2.3 (which
WMP reads fine from my other...

Vista File Content Search of Network Drives by
joshlrogers
I was trying to resolve a user’s error today in regards to searching the
contents of an excel 2003 file. They are looking for a specific phrase
within that file which XP can find and it seems Vista can not. This file is
on a networked, non-indexed, drive. I followed these steps
I right clicked on the folder to be searched and chose search
I went into the search options and told it to...

How do I unlock Documents folders and subfolders? by
Comcast Newsgroups[_2_]
I am running Vista Home Premium edition.
Even though all of my user accounts have administrator authority, I am not
able to access Documents folders and Documents subfolders, using Explorer.
I get an "access denied" error message.
How can I unlock those folders so that I can access files within them
directly from Explorer?

Users on "C" Drive by
vwayne
Been reading this forum for help, but can't find my identical problem.
So I'll try to explain. I'm having a problem with files on my new
computer, Vista 64 Ultimate.
I have my OS and Apps on C drive, and all my data on a separate
physical drive which I call F. Today I sent documents and some pictures
from the F drive to my Users file under Document and Pictures. But when
I checked my C drive I...

Vista wants to format CDs by
Ray[_6_]
When I try to open a CD (*not* a CD-R or -RW) in Explorer, it often
pops up a window asking how I want to format it. This is kind of silly
for a non-writeable disc. If I click Cancel, it won't open the disc.
Instead I have to let it try to format the disc and give up before it
will open.
A while back I called Dell support and was told to uninstall the CD
drive and reboot. This fixed the...

I deleted a file, tried to restore it, and it didn't restore. by
Dazedandconfused
I clicked on restore, and it left the reclycle bin, but then it didn't go to
the original location, and I don't know the name of the files, so is there
any other way to look them up?
Thank you so much to anyone who can reply.

File view sorting by
C. Heaven
I have files on as SD card mostly in the correct order for an LCD picture
frame. When I view the card in windows; it sorts the files so they are in a
different order than on the card. I need to move a single file on the card.
How can I get windows to show me the same file order as on the card (no
sorting)?

Outlook 2007 and compressed attachments by
Mario - Roma
Some friends running Outlook 2007 on Vista reports that if they receive a
compressed file (.zip) as an attachment and if they attempt to open it they
get a message asking to open or save it.
If they choose to open it nothing happens.
Other attachments are opened without problems.
If they save the attachment they can open it without problems.
How can I help them solving this problem?
Regards
Mario

How to Mount Physical Disk to Users Folder by
Wyman[_4_]
Hi,
Is there a way to mount a physical disk to the C:\Users folder? It seems
there is no way to relocate all items in that folder to other location so
that that folder can be empty for mounting.
Thank you.
