Default hardware for Media Center

Hi,

I would like to know how to use media center.
I launch MC and it comes up on my TV but how do I navigate it?
Do I have to have a remote control or can I use my keyboard and mouse (I
don't see the pointer)?
If I need a remote control, can you recommend one? Does it come with an
infra-red receiver or is that a separate purchase?

Thanks

The most elegant method is with a Media Center remote control with a media
center compatible Infrared receiver (they usually come bundled, a remote and
receiver). They can be found at major computer retailers and online. Since
MC also recognizes mice, keyboards, almost any input device, you could use a
wireless keyboard, or even a wired keyboard, whatever you're comfortable
with. Since you've already got a keyboard, try using the Arrow/Cursor Keys.
The highlighted area should change when you press up/down/left/right. The
backspace key takes you BACK a level. There are many keyboard shortcuts that
work too, but mostly arrows, spacebar and enter will get you going.
