Hi,

Likely your function (fn) key is stuck on.

You usually use the Fn key with another key in the top row to toggle the
numeric keypad of and on. The area of the keyboard on the right toggles to
a numeric keypad when you use the Fn+(another key) and back to standard
letters and punctuation when you use it again. It should be in the manual
for your laptop and in the help files on the computer.

Probably fn+numlock, check your manual or help files for other possibilities
as they can vary by manufacturer.
