Default Codec question...

I decided to install the K-Lite codec pack so I could play a downloaded movie
clip. One thing worries me though. How does WMP11 and Media Center know which
codec to use at which times? I have a codec for my HDTV, will one of these
overwrite that? I just don't undertand how it all works.
Someone able to clear this up for me?

The name of the codec is stored in the file. So that's how it know swhich
one to use or download. I don't think the K-Lite pack contains anything for
HDTV, so I wouldn't worry about that. The list of codecs in K-Lite are he

Default Codec question...

I've tried install K-Lite Mega Codec Pack on Vista (Build:5600)
It works ~
RMVB works... DivX works, HD Video also works...
