Microsoft newsgroups support Microsoft software. Any hardware groups would
be about hardware used with Microsoft products. Don't you have to decide what operating system you are going to run before hardware questions would even matter? Decide if you are a Windows, Linux, OS/X, or other user and find a newsgroup or forum that supports hardware used with your OS. You can also hang out on hardware sites and use those forums, like Tom's Hardware or forums hosted by a particular manufacturer like Intel. Use Google.
