Scan but won't copy
I completed reinstalled the updated software and drivers from the HP website
for my Scanjet G3010, which HP claims full support in Vista. No buttons are not working, but can scan from the screen. No copy function on screen, so that feature is not available at all. Any suggestions? Thanks. CT |

Scan but won't copy
Hi, Carol.
My 8-year-old HP OfficeJet G-55 printer/scanner/copier works well with no HP software at all, except for whatever drivers are on the Vista DVD. I bought it in 2000 because HP promised it would work with Windows 2000 - but it took 2 years for HP to produce the "full-featured" software for Win2K - and by then I had WinXP and had learned that I really didn't need whatever was in those special drivers. There is no HP control panel on my computer screen. The OfficeJet prints and scans into Word, Paint and other apps, just as it should, with commands from the computer. But I don't even touch the computer to Copy! Even with the computer turned off, Copy works just fine. I think your problem is inside the ScanJet, NOT in Vista - or anywhere in your computer. Check out why those buttons don't work. RC -- R. C. White, CPA San Marcos, TX Microsoft Windows MVP (Running Windows Live Mail 2008 in Vista Ultimate x64 SP1) "CT" wrote in message ...
