Good evening all,

I am being asked to download the same important updates all the time.

They get downloaded, I reboot and then the same Updates are available for
download. I think I have downloaded the same downloaded half a dozen time,
hoping this would fix itself...and it does not.

Any ideas

You would need to check your update history, then the failures, to find the
reason the update failed

Thanks for the reply DL,

Unfortunatly, I am not getting any errors or failure messages.

This is the stranges thing to me...I am being advised that the download was
successful and nothing more. But yet, next time I turn the computer on, It
asks me to download them again.

Perhaps this will help (or confuse even more):
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906602

There is an interesting note in the article for advanced users:

"Note By default, the Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web site will
suppress all errors. Examine the log file, or install the update from the
Microsoft Download Center to see whether an error occurred."

I'm not sure what that means since I'm sure I've had some updates labled
"failed" when I was updating Win98.

Denis,

Are you using the Comodo firewall by any chance?
