flawless upgrade from XP to RC2
Did an image of my drive (XP), and downloaded and burned the RC2 iso.
After removing the one program that I had problems with under RC1 (it's an HP ProtectTools program), started the upgrade. It went flawlessly. The only complaint, is the time (one hour and 25 minutes). And the Synaptics touchpad driver is 'jumpy' so am using the basic drivers from Vista. This is running on an HP Pavillion dv5100z with 1GB ram; 2.2 Semperon; 128mb ATI X200M (integrated), and a Hitachi 7200rpm 80GB disk; Lightscribe DVD/CD Even Nero 7 Ultimate (latest ed) is working. The only program disabled was HP's Rapsody Music. All hot keys, Quick Launch buttons, work fine. Notice a definite improvement in performance. So far this Ultimate Ed is performing well. |

flawless upgrade from XP to RC2
I just installed RC2 on a 2nd hard drive, dual booting with XP Pro. SO far,
I am really impressed. The guts of the OS are much more gear toward advanced system users, which makes me happy. Still poking through all of the new stuff, pretty cool. Only problem is my older geforece ti 4200 doesnt support directx 9 so I havent been able to play with aero glass. But I am checking egghead.com as we speak for a new graphics card Cheddarhead "Jane C" wrote in message ... Yes. Build 5744 is RC2. -- Jane, not plain 64 bit enabled Batteries not included.
