Samsung SM 757DFX + Rad X1600Pro
I have Samsung SyncMaster 757DFX and ATi Radeon X1600Pro. I have a problem
with refresh rates - I cannot set the res. of 1152x864x32 with 100Hz refresh rate though my monitor and gfx both support it and I can use this settings in XP without problems. Vista (Home Premium 64bit) behaves as if it couldn't detect the 100Hz mode. 85Hz is the highest available choice. This is the only problem that stops me from upgrading XP to Vista What can I do? I'm loosing my eyes |

Are you using the RTM release since it contains a later version of the
NVIDIA drivers then the release that is available from the NVIDIA Website? "aric" wrote in message ... I have Samsung SyncMaster 757DFX and ATi Radeon X1600Pro. I don't have nVidia gfx but ATi Radeon. nVidia drivers won't help me much.

I'm sorry I must have been responding to the wrong post. I assume that you
are using the "RTM" drivers from the ATI Website. I have however read of several users having trouble with displays with Vista X64. I assume you are running WinUpdate fairly regularly to see if new drivers are available since they very likely will show up there before they show up on the ATI Website since ATI will probably want to make sure that they are on the WHQL and are signed before they post them. All correct but I have some clues. I just reinstalled WinXP and realized that
I have similar problem here unless I install OmegaDrivers (those based on Catalyst 6.9), then install official Catalyst 6.11 a finally uninstall OmegaDrivers. After that "workaround" all works fine on WinXP. I think this may be the same problem on Vista, I'll check it later when I have some time.
