I, too, have a T60 with the same Vista SP1 problem. However, in this case my
USB webcam works but when I attempted to add an external hard drive, the
system can not find the driver.

The Microsoft Knowledge Base this problem was solved with SP1 but it seems
that it actually may have worsened. Attempts to delete infcache.1 in hopes
that a rebuilt file upon reboot have not worked.

For me, I need access to my backup files on my USB hardrive but I have no
way to get to it.

the camera stopped working so I uninstalled SP1 and it still doesn't work, it
appears as "Unknown device". Is Microsoft going to publish some solution? I
see all the reports and there are a lot people having the same problem.
Someone could help me please I don't know what to do now. Should I come back
to XP?

I don't understand how this can happen, SP1 was not developed to fix
problems? Instead it brings more!!!! :-)
I hope some brilliant mind in Microsoft read some of the problems posted
here and give us a solution.

From what I have been reading, MS is getting an earful regarding the
USB and SP1 issues.....

Earlier GTS suggested three steps that might be taken to solve the problem. I
have attempted all three suggestions and none of them succeeded in a remedy.

In regards to the Lenovo T60, I note that one of the Think Advanatge updates
deals with Vista USB recognition issues. I have this update installed but it
made no difference in this case.
