Default Synaptics Touchpad Drivers

Synaptics just released on their site version 9.1.0 for Vista 32 and Vista
64 drivers. So far everything looks OK.

Default Synaptics Touchpad Drivers

Thanks John. I'm running a Synaptics Touchpad on XP but not Vista. I see
there are new drivers for XP as well. My TouchPad version of 5.9 and the
driver is 7.5.18.1 (7/15/03). It works fine on XP but do you think there is
any reason to upgrade it? The site doesn't list what the enhancements are.

Thanks,
Brett

Personally I never upgraded touchpad (or mouse) drivers. I always used the
latest available when I did clean installs. If you are happy I don't think
you need the upgrade. I do not know what features your version supported so
I can't say anything about enhancements.

However in the case of Vista, since the built-in mouse drivers did not
support anything touchpad specific the new drivers are welcome.

I installed the new drivers and my pointer keeps skipping around the screen.
Anyone got any ideas?

the same problem. pointer jumps and messes up all the stuff on desktop, word,
excel, etc. it began right after Vista install this month (clean install
after Media Center Edition 2005). installed all the new drivers from
Synaptics, but it doesn't help. is there anything Microsoft people can
suggest?
