Default Problems burning CDs, audio and picture, with Media Player, etc.

Lately, I've been unable to burn audio CDs using Media Player. I create
playlist, insert blank CD-R, press "burn". After the CD is spit out, I get
nothing - won't play in the computer or my CD player. I've also been unable
to burn picture CDs. I have Nikon Picture Project. When I insert a blank CD,
Auto Play pops up, which I usually cancel and hit "burn" in Picture Project.
Again, nothing but a trashed CD. It has worked in the past. I'm at a lose.
I'm still relatively new to computers, still kinda "Duh, what?" Any help with
this would be appreciated. Thanks.

-- Some basics:

1) Check your settings under the WMP Burn tab. Make sure the appropriate
burn is selected. Audio or data, depending on what you’re trying to do.

2) Look at burned CD via Computer and see if WMP had burned anything to your
CD.

3) Try a different “burn” program that came with your computer such as Roxio
(to test if cd/dvd burner is working).

4) Ask yourself what have you changed lately ( such as installed program,
uninstalled, deleted files, etc) that may have led to this problem.

Also, go Help and Support, enter “Media Player Burn” choose "Troubleshooting
Problems in WMP."

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the reply. I'm still stumped & frustrated. Toshiba Disk Creator
will burn audio but pictures yield an error message and a suggestion to seek
online help. Got me!? "Troubleshooting..." was useless. I'll probably have to
wind up paying someone to fix this mess. I've got tons of work to do and this
has been a huge waste of time.
