external SATA drive unomunts?
---HP Pavillion dv9700z notebook, Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit--- Hi, I bought a Metal Gear Box 3506uas SATA 3.5" enclosure and installed a Seagate 320Gb SATA drive. Vista recognizes the drive but during large copy operations, the drive unmounts and I get an error message that the drive is unrecognized...it disappears from disk managements. What could be causing this? Thanks! Rob -- dreadpyrat |

external SATA drive unomunts?
How is the drive formatted? (Fat 32, NTFS, etc.)
Have you tried running a Seagate diagnostic to determine the drive's condition? does the external drive adapter have it's own power supply? Are you using USB to connect the drive? (Some of the HP laptops have an external SATA connector.)
