Default DVD Drives not being installed error 39 - driver corrupted or missing?

Hi,

I have 2 dvd drives one TSSTcorp SH S203BSATA and Liteon DH-20A4P IDE. Both
cannot be connected or work with Vista.

There doesn't seem to be a way to remove drivers so that standard windows
vista will be loaded.

I'm using Vista Ultimate SP 1

Any suggestions on troubleshooting?
TIA
Doug

If the system is hanging during boot, and vista is already installed, it may
be that the BIOS boot order needs to be changed, so that the HD is before
the DVD drives. If you are trying to install Vista on a machine with a blank
HD, and the drives are not recognized by the BIOS, or they error out, it may
be that you have a hardware problem.

Here's one suggestion:

http://www.windowvistarepair.com/Vis...nd-code-19-60/

(This involves removing a couple of Registry keys. Something to do with
pointers to drivers that are no longer present, maybe.)

HTH.

Return address scrambled. Replace nkbob with bobkn.
