My Gateway GT5408 Vista crashed. The screen reads Boot Manager. It
tells you to put in the CD & then hit repair. I only have an upgrade
CD. I tried that & it didn't help. It gives me a "no signal" screen
and then it automatically goes back to the Boot Manager screen. The
orginial Vista was installed when I purchased it. I really need the
computer asap. It's used for school & work! Please help. Thanks!

It sounds like you have hardware failure but it is really difficult to be
sure with so little information. The "no signal" message means that there
is no signal going from your video card to your monitor. There's no way of
telling from here what hardware component(s) is/are involved. I doubt it is
only your video card, but it will take someone skilled who can look at the
machine directly to do an accurate diagnosis.

Probably the most efficient thing you could do at this point is to take the
machine to a qualified computer professional. I don't recommend using a
BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place. Alternately, if the computer is
still under warranty you should call Gateway tech support.

Thanks for the advise. I don't know how it happened, but I know it's
got to be fixed quickly. I appreciate your quick response.
