Western Digital Caviar Black
Just received a Western Digital Caviar Black 640kb. First I have a WD 320
SATA 2 drive, and bought this new one to replace it as a boot drive. I am using Vista and use the dual upgrade option when installing. The 320 drive works fine, and after removing it and installed the new Cavair black drive. It will not complete the upgrade because at the end it says it cant find certain drivers. This does not happen on the 320 drive. Is there anyting unique with this new drive that requires drivers. Maybe something in the BIOS. Any ideas would be helpful. I surely cannot find anything. |

I don't know what you mean by "dual upgrade", so there may be something related to that. You can always check for Bios updates, it might help. If you are installing a raid, it may need drivers depending on your motherboard. But I have never done a raid, so I am not sure about that either. Clark |
