Default CD/DVD -- not found after RC1 installation

After installing RC1, my computer does not recognize my DVD or CD drives.
Dell 8300
Samsung DVD-ROM SD-616E ATA Device
?? HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8483B ATA Device

What now??

Hi,

If it doesn't recognize either and they are on the same controller cable, I
would suspect the controller cable driver assuming they previously worked
fine in XP or other OS, otherwise it may be a hardware issue.

Also make sure to nuke any filter values in the reg if you find them ala:

CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive appears to be missing after you install
Windows XP or Windows Vista

See the registry changes you need to make at
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b/320553/en-us will solve your
problem. Worked like a charm for me! This is a solution for even the RTM SKU.
