Deleted important files and can't do clean re-install
My son released "w32 virut.ai generic" virus onto my pc. I used a scanner to remove the virus from the files and folders. It cleaned about 200 but AVG keeps picking up infected files telling me to reboot every 10 seconds to delete it. Now I've deleted some important folders and buggered the C partition. It cannot find system restore Can't access specified path for cd drive (so can't do clean re-install Can't open control panel from start menu, Explorer.EXE application not found. Have to open my computer then select from left side menu Windows installer service cannot be accessed when trying to delete programs from control panel (to free up space from c drive for re-install otherwise vista cd won't even run) Nothing happens when I try to open Internet explorer And probobly lots of more problems I'm not aware of yet. Any ideas how to delete programs to make space on C partition and get my cd drive working so I can re-install? Deleted important files and can't do clean re-install
Hi Rick. Thanks for the quick reply, really appreciate it. I've finally got to the BIOS set up (F1) and booted from CD. I also decided to delete the 4 partitions (19GB each) which were a complete nuisance. Clean re-installing right now, just got to load all the software again.
