Default Can't send email with attachments

I just installed the latest Live Mail and then tried to send two emails with
attachments and got the usual message: Your server has unexpectedly
terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems,
network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Subject 'Fw: Fwd: The New Republican Ad For 2010'
Server Error: 421
Server Response: 421 Service not available ; Closing transmission
Server: 'smtp.att.yahoo.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 465
Secure(SSL): Yes

Sorry about the two previous blank replies, I couldn't figure out how to use this. Anyway, I've tried all the above including totally uninstalling Norton, but nothing works. I even tried the clean up tool and I still can't send attachments. It lets me send them at times then shuts me down again. I have several Emails with attachments in my out box on both Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail. They're both not working. I was able to send for the short time there was a Windows Live web mail, but I tried the other day and apparently it's been dropped. I have the same problem with my employer's programing staff. They have to justify their existence so they keep tinkering with the programs. Just when you're used to it, they've changed again. Murphy's law; If it ain't broke, don't fix it.. I'm forced to rely on Windows Mail, either live or original, and they're not working.

Disabling Norton's email scanning is sometimes insufficient. If so,
do a trial uninstall, followed by using their debris removal tool:

Reboot your computer, then test Windows Live Mail again. If successful,
you can try reinstalling Norton, but use 'custom' install, which should
give you an opportunity to skip installing the email scanning function.

Instead of uninstalling your antivirus, another option is to upgrade to
Windows Live Mail, which is more resistant to the adverse effects of overly
intrusive antivirus products: http://download.live.com/wlmail

Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant

Note that for some AV programs, it may be necessary to uninstall the
program and reinstall in Custom Mode and uncheck e-mail scanning when the
option arises.

That 421 error looks like a server problem. Strange, in that I use that
same server myself (smtp.att.yahoo.com), without any problems.
Are you able to send emails without attachments? How large is the
attachment?
