I am running Vista Home Premium. I have placed a shortcut to Outlook in the
startup folder but Outlook does not automatically start when the computer is

If you go to Start-Programs-Startup and click the Outlook icon, does it
start then?

Yes Outlook runs normally otherwise. It seems any program put in the
startup folder will not start automatically on boot up.

If you placed the shortcut in your personal user account startup, try
placing in the all users startup instead.
