AMD 3400+ runs at ~800 Mhz!! Supposed to run at 2200 Mhz
Cal:
I do apologize for the confusion that my unfortunate quoted comment arose. English is not my native language (it is Spanish) and after re-reading my post I notice that it might have been misinterpreted by its improper writing. "just looked the mobo manual" was by no means a suggestion for you. It meant "I have just read the motherboard manual". I was trying to point out that in my case, which is not yours, there are specific settings in BIOS regarding the subject in question. Sorry again for the misunderstanding. Carlos "Cal Bear '66" wrote: Well, since your post was addressed to me (Cal and suggested that I "just looked the mobo manual" (nice English?), I responded. If you don't have anything useful to say why waste time by a silly, pretentious and useless post? "Carlos" wrote in message ... "Carlos" wrote in message ... Cal: I think the throttle thing has to be enabled in BIOS, or have to have installed an AMD utility (CPU cool?) in order to allow the lowering of the frequency. Otherwise it is not enabled by default. Carlos "Cal Bear '66" wrote: Don't AMD processors automatically throttle down when they are not being fully used? Using a Sidebar gadget, when the system was idle, it did not report the full frequency of my AMD processor. "Carlos" wrote in message ... ZebraB: 1.- How do you know that your 3400+ is running at 800 Mhz? 2.- What does your BIOS say upon boot? It might not be Vista the one to look but your BIOS settings might be wrong. 3.- Download and install CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php) and check the info it provides about your processor. Carlos "ZebraB" wrote: I can't get Vista to recognize my 3400+ to have a frequency of 2200 Mhz or at least to run it at 2200 Mhz. I tried everything around those energy plans, no change! PLS someone help me! I have a Vista System in a different language, so please post every answer step by step or I might not be able to follow! |

Great!
From reading your other posts, you seemed like a very nice and helpful person, and was very surprised that, what to me, seemed like a derogatory snipe. Sorry for my mistake. But you realize, of course, everyone's primary purpose in these newsgroups is not to be helpful, but to prove our boundless infallible knowledge, and above all to protect our egos.
