Importing MP3's into Vista
Just got a new system, and Vista won't recognize any of my music files to
add to my new machine. I've tried adding from a disc, as well as from my portable player, and in both cases it does not 'find' any music tracks in either source. Any advice? |

Importing MP3's into Vista
It's not clear to me what you are trying to accomplish or what method you
are using. Are you attempting to get the MP3s to show up in the Windows Media Player library? If so, try copying the MP3s to a location on your hard disk, and then configure Windows Media Player to "monitor" that location. Importing MP3's into Vista
Thanks ,
I have alot of MP3 files that I want to transfer to my new computer. When I attempt to do so via CD-R discs, Vista is not reading that there are any files on the disc (I know there are, as I can view them on my old computer (running Windows 98), and on my work computer (running Windows 2000). Same thing when I plug in my portable MP3 player - it does not read that there are any files available to transfer. I notice that in Vista, you are unable to specify file extensions that you may be searching for. Could it be that it is configured for a different format (WMA) files only? Importing MP3's into Vista
When you insert the CD-R that contains your MP3 files, Windows should
display a dialog box that gives you the option to "Play using Windows Media Player" or "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer." Do you see that dialog? If you do see that dialog and you click "Open folder to view files," are you saying that no files are listed in the window? "Brad & Jan" wrote in message .. .
