STTP: Which Bluetooth dongles work well in Vista?
Hello, I'm new to this 'group. Using Windows Vista Home Premium.
I've been searching the WWW for Bluetooth dongles. More or less all the ones I find claim to work with Windows XP among other versions, but don't mention Vista at all. A search on Google for "bluetooth dongle vista" brings up many forum posts from people who are having nightmares getting their devices to work. I would like to get it right from the beginning, by getting a model that I can be sure works. Preferably straight out of the box, by Vista's own driver or a driver that comes with the device; failing that, something for which getting a compatible driver and getting it up and running isn't too much effort. Somebody mentioned D-Link DBT-120, which I've found here http://www.amazon.co.uk/D-Link-USB-B...dp/B00006B7DB/ but at £25, by no means the cheapest. Another one I found is http://www.bluesoleil.com/products/i...o&id=115319003 but this seems to contradict itself on whether it's Vista-compatible. Besides, that site has extortionate S&H charges. What models have you people tried and found to work well with not too much effort? And of these, which would you actually recommend? Stewart. |
