I recently purchased a Western Digital MyBook World Edition 500MB Network
Hard Drive. Works great, can see it on the network, can copy, retrieve,
backup, all that good stuff.
But how can I get Sync Center to recognize it?

Your device is an external hard drive not a mobile device such as a Pocket
PC. From Sync Center Help:

"You can use Sync Center to keep your files and other information in sync
between your computer and mobile devices, network folders, and compatible
programs."

In order for a mobile device to be compatible with Sync Center, the device
must have compatible software installed, that is software compatible with
sync center. That said, you might want to try this free Microsoft Applet,
SyncToy 1.4 for Vista:

I have a question for you rather than an answer, How did you get vista
to recognise the drive. I have tried everything I know and can't get it
to see it without mionet.
