"The computer has recently been unable to recognise the D Drive of the computer and when I opened Device Manager to check it, the device status read "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"" I fixed that problem by editing the registry exactly how it said on the microsoft web site...but now when I put in a disk in, like F.E.A.R (PC game) or just a CD...it doesnt recognise it and tells me to insert a Disk when I have. What do I do? Do you use a 3rd party software CD recording program? Try uninstalling that. If not, in Device Manager, try uninstalling the
driver, and then rebooting. Window will re-discover the device. "jimmycub" wrote in message ... Ok. I was worried if I uninstalled the driver I wouldn't be able to re-install it again, cos thats what I wanted to do. So I shall try that.
