Default BFG 650i ultra mobo

Hello people... having fun yet ?
Ok so here is my problem... I have a new motherboard, BFG 650i ultra. I had
XP and vista on my old dead board, a P5P800se AGP 865pe chipset. So now to
the 650i chipset, setup XP on this board and it works fine. Setup the duel
boot to Vista on the second Raptor hard drive and after the first reboot I
get the BSOD from the ntdll.dll hard error. Tried turning off all I could in
the bios one change each reload time, go to XP drive and format Vista drive,
check for errors for a clean setup again and again.... Same error each time,
about 20 or more tries over the weekend. I did not try the raid, off in bios.
I did preload in the Vista install the 15.00 and the 15.01 ide drivers. I did
not let Vista update either. Called up Microsoft and worked with them for a
couple of hours and they figure I need a bios update, but there is none. I
have been reading forums and there are alot of similar problems with the 680
chipset but the updates are on the 650 bios as it is newer, so I was told by
BFG.
Well from all the reading I have been doing some of you are having problems
with XP, all my problems are with Vista... ya new stuff with all the bugs. So
if anyone can suggest a good combination of stuff to turn on and off in the
bios to get Vista to stop losing files, crashing on the install... that would
be great because the Tech people have no idea yet... I did read up on the
raid problems and that is where I got the idea of loading the drivers for the
mobo with Vista install but nothing I have done with a clear cmos,
reformatted HD, unpluged the XP HD, upgraded from a fresh XP install with
drivers that work and cannot be used on Vista but... well if I knew there is
an updated bios coming out for the 650 chipset I'll just have to wait or
giveup and see if I can return the mobo and get an Intel chipset, ya there
having issues too... What to do when the DX 10 games come out ???
Thanks and have fun... cdland
