Support for shutdown from UPS signal?
Windows XP had support in the Power options area of Control Panel for
UPS-initiated shutdown; I have one of the classic APC Back-UPS that uses a serial port to connect to the computer and signal it to shut down if the AC power fails. I cannot find settings for this in Vista RC2. Will I need to resort to running Power Chute Plus, will it run on Vista? Can't seem to find any thing in the help and support for UPS other than its definition. |

Consider that the parallel interface has been gone for about 3-4 years now. I am now considering getting a newer UPS to handle this situation myself. The UPS itself works fine. You just can not configure it at all. -- Regards, Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User Posted using Vista RC2 5744 (For email, remove the obvious from my address) Quote from George Ankner: If you knew as much as you think you know, You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew! |
