Default Can't seem to emove intellipoint

Hi,
I have a Dell laptop with a synaptic touchpad. I had a Microsoft mouse, and
installed the intellipoint software. I have since purchased a logitech
mouse, and tried to remove the intellipoint software. Althought the
software is listed in the programs/features, there is no option to
uninstall. I deleted the directories and deleted the driver, but when I try
and change a setting on the mouse it defaults to intellipoint. How can I
get rid of this?
thanks

Use the 'Change' option (or double click). It will tell you it is installed
and offer to remove.

Sorry that is not working for you,
I confirmed that clicking on the change button or double clicking the line
causes a dialogue to come up offering to remove the software (on my system).
Tried it both as an administrator and 'normal' user.

Does the uninstall button show for any of the installed items (if not then
you have some other problem to take care of first)?

The only thing I can suggest is to reinstall it and then try to
uninstall. That technique has sometimes worked for me.
There might be some conflict between the two mouse drivers. I would also
suggest that you remove (physically) the mouse and then remove the Logitech
software, try again to remove the intellipoint software. Reinstall the
intellipoint software, then uninstall the intellipoint software.
Then reinstall the Logitech software (check documentation as to if the mouse
should be plugged in before or after the software).

Point is to clean up any leftover parts of both sets of software and start
over. I recommend rebooting after each step to make sure files in use are
cleaned up. A rather long and messy operation that may not help!

all the other items are un-installable except this and some other program I
thought I removed a while ago. I went through the registry and deleted
every reference to 'intellipoint', reinstalled my Synaptics driver and now
it seems to be gone. Thanks for your help
