Kodak C603 Camera driver grrrrr!
Vista can't find the driver. The driver's in the software that came with the
camera and I've also downloaded it from Kodak's sight. Vista is not finding it...this is pretty frustrating as now I have no way to send any pictures to anyone! Vista recognizes the hardware, just not the driver. Any suggestions? |

Wait until the final Vista release, when Kodak may update the driver to work with that O/S. In the interim, use XP if possible. I have a similar issue with an SD card writer/reader. The system recognized that it is there, but the driver is not designed for Vista. |

I know more than they do! Don't have XP on my PC anymore...! Why couldn't they just allow XP drivers in the Vista program...not a rocket scientist programming option? thanks anyway.....guess i'll have to use my laptop.....grrrrrrr! |

It doesn't simply recognize the camera as a generic camera? That's what XP x64 did with my camera. I just plugged it into the USB port and it was able to download pictures right away. I realize you're talking about Vista, which is a different kettle of fish. I'll try my camera with Vista and report the results back. "Judy" wrote in message ... Vista can't find the driver. If SETUP for the driver shows up as a clickable file in Explorer, try a right-click|PROPERTIES|COMPATIBILITY MODE|RUN AS XP (SP2). Might be worth a try... |

Kodak C603 Camera driver grrrrr!
Hi DP,
I now have a problem, and perhaps you can help. I have had XP Pro x64 (trial) installed for a number of months and my Kodak DC280 would automatically get recognized and I could transfer pictures using the windows facilities just fine. Several weeks ago, I subscribed to TechNet and obtained a non-trial version of XP Pro x64. I think "upgraded" my install XP Pro x64 (SP1) system with the "non-trial" version with SP1 integrated into it. Now, I can't get my camera to work. The camera is recognized in the device manager correctly as DC280 xxx when it's plugged it, but no amount of coercion through the device manager or through the scanner/camera wizard can find any driver that could be used for the camera. In fact, if I use the scanner/camera wizard, the second screen says "unable to find any drivers for this device(advanced)", even though I haven't even selected any particular device yet. It appears that all the WIA "drivers" are missing. Any ideas? thanks, Tom -- Tom "DP" wrote: It doesn't simply recognize the camera as a generic camera? That's what XP x64 did with my camera.
