Hauppauge Win TV 150 won't work... except in slot 1
I bought a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 150, Media Center Kit a few hours ago, and
when I installed the drivers, Vista crashed. To make a long story short, after trying it out in another box, running XP, I plugged it back into my Vista box, and I used the first slot of the PCI slots, and after booting up, the hardware was recognized, drivers installed, and shortly after I was up and running with Media Center, and TV. So, anyone else having problems, read the instructions and note the part that says... "On some PC's, the WintTV-PVR needs to be plugged into the first or second PCI slot." My first slot would appear to be the one furthest away from my AGP slot, and at the bottom of my case/mother board, since that's the slot that works. I wonder if my older Win TV card would work in that slot, or slot 2. 2 TV tuners, might be nice. |

Maybe they are just trying to insure that it is not plugged into the slot
next to the AGP card since on some motherboards with 4 or so PCI slots the slot next to the AGP slot shares its IRQ with the AGP slot which can cause problems with 2 high bandwiedth cards like a tuner and a graphcis care.
