Are Geforce 7950s supposed to have DirectX 10? because mine does..
Everywhere I go I keep hearing people say that if you do not have a Geforce
8800 you will not be able to experience the graphic qualities of DirectX 10. Yet I have 2 7950s ussually set to SLI and my dxdiag says that I have DirectX 10. I can't imagine that they would call DirectX 9.0c DirectX 10 on peoples computers. I am also experiencing some weird glitches in computer games that are descriped in a few of the hotfixes for DirectX 10 cards yet it says that these updates don't apply to me. Has my computer somehow fit through one of the cracks and how do I get out because I would take stability and performance over graphics quality anyday. The feeling of paying for 7950s and then they crash in game is not a very good one. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 10/13/2007, 23:08:08 Machine name: USER-FA5CAD3A4C Operating System: Windows Vistaâ„¢ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_gdr.070627-1500) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: System manufacturer System Model: System Product Name BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.9GHz Memory: 2046MB RAM Page File: 986MB used, 3338MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 10 DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 6.00.6000.16386 32bit Unicode --------------- Display Devices --------------- Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce 7950 GT DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0295&SUBSYS_C6353842&REV_A1 Display Memory: 1272 MB Dedicated Memory: 504 MB Shared Memory: 767 MB Current Mode: 1280 x 1024 (32 bit) (75Hz) Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor Driver Name: nvd3dum.dll,nvwgf2um.dll Driver Version: 7.15.0011.6369 (English) DDI Version: 9Ex Driver Attributes: Final Retail Driver Date/Size: 9/11/2007 22:28:00, 4988928 bytes WHQL Logo'd: Yes WHQL Date Stamp: Device Identifier: {D7B71E3E-41D5-11CF-1343-3EE601C2CA35} Vendor ID: 0x10DE Device ID: 0x0295 SubSys ID: 0xC6353842 Revision ID: 0x00A1 Revision ID: 0x00A1 DDraw Status: Enabled D3D Status: Enabled AGP Status: Enabled |

Dxdiag is reporting that you computer has software support for DX10.
However with out a graphics card that has hardware support for DX10 the software support does you no good and you can not play DX10 games. "DemonAts" wrote in message ... Im still kind of confused is there anyway to revert to Direct X 9.0c? Since
all Vista Computers come with Direct X 10 everyone sees DirectX 10 under dxdiag? "JW" wrote: Dxdiag is reporting that you computer has software support for DX10. You don't have to do anything, as Vista also has DirectX 9. In fact, that is
what Aero is based on. If you are getting poor reliability, I would look into heat and/or power problems. And to a lesser extent, driver issues, though it would be easy to try newer drivers just in case. "DemonAts" wrote: Im still kind of confused is there anyway to revert to Direct X 9.0c?
