I've had the same problem after buying a new computer with Windows Vista.
After researching & setting up the server, my error messages in trying to
send e-mails read:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject ''none, Account:
'pop.att.yahoo.com', Server: 'smtp.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port:
25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
and also
Account: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '-ERR [AUTH] invalid user/password', Port: 110,
Secure(SSL):
No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92
ANY ADVICE? After trying the download, message stated download wasn't
necessary I think.
Go to the tools menuaccounts select your accountproperties.
Try the following changes to port numbers on the advanced tab.
Incoming mail port #: 995, secure connection (SSL) checked
Outgoing mail port #: 465, secure connection (SSL) checked
Select the checkbox on the Server Tab:
Outgoing mail server: Outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
