Still no sound after KB937077
So I just finished installing the KB937077 update for Vista which is supposed
to fix the problem relating to hybrid sleep mode and Vista not playing 24bit hd audio after it. The problem still persists, however, but strangely enough when I turn my speakers all the way up I can hear a very faint bit of whatever is playing (though barely enough that it registers for more than 1-2dBa. Any suggestions as to what might fix this? I have thought of deleting the device and let Windows install it again, but I cannot see how this will help if the update has been successfully applied (which it by far appears to according to event manager). |

Use system restore and restore to a point prior to installing update, and see
if OK. If all Ok, you do not require the update -- Regards Bob J If advise given from anyone, solves problem or not, or if solved from another source, post back & let us know. Then we all benefit. "D. Still no sound after KB937077
This solution did not change anything beyond losing a few installed programs.
So if anyone has any other suggestions, or got a clue how to inform Microsoft of a problem like this (if they're not reading newsgroups as often as they should), please inform me. Still no sound after KB937077
So Microsoft today decided to launch another update called KB929685 which
does exactly the same; There's still a 1-2 dBa emission of sound from my satelite speakers (all but the front stereo speakers). So I'm left to wonder if it's somehow going to be Creatives problem that it isn't working, though I cannot see why since it used to work just fine. "D. Still no sound after KB937077
Do I really have to reinstall Windows Vista in order to get sound working, or
do I even have to go back to Windows XP (of which I no longer own a license, as I lost it last time I moved, which was my reason for switching to Vista back then, as it happened just after Vista was released)? Seriously, that's not very neat. Not neat at all. "D.
