Default 1/2 hour to verify a downloaded program before Vista will install

I downloaded the newest version of the America's Army game (2.4GB) and when
you run the installer the running blue circle just runs.

I looked up on the america's army site and found that someone actually
waited the 1/2 hour that it takes Vista to verify the install program due to
it's size.

Please tell me this is a bug that is being worked on and not a "feature"
Otherwise, I'll be finding another copy of XP and will be sending this puppy
to the curb.

to be complete, this is on a Quad Core Q6600 with 2 GB of ram. I'd be scared
to see how long this takes on a lesser machine as I can barely open web pages
while this is taking place although performance monitor only shows 0-5% cpu
usage and 40% physical memory being used. Color me as a believer in the Mac
v. PC commercials now. ohh well.
