Default Current setup and power down intermittently issues

I am currently running;

Windows Vista 64-Bit
ABIT IP35 Pro Motherboard
Intel Core2 Quad CPU @ 2.40 GHZ
2-8 GB of Corsair RAM (type = CM2X2048-6400C5DHX ; XMS2-6400 2048MD 800MHZ)
NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800 GTX
2 - WDC WD7500AAKS-00RBA0 ATA Device
1 - HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H62N ATA Device

Pretty much a bare bones Ferarri system. It occasionally likes ot flare up
adn shut down on me while in teh middle of something. No games running on it
yet as it has not been stable at all, until last night. I left it on all
night and it finally never shut itself down. Burn in maybe? I know Vista SP1
is coming but does anyone know anything else I can tweak to create a more
stable system. I am not an expert by far but am quick to pick things up and
researching blogs, tech sites , etc has helped me understand that Vista
64-Bit plus my other equipment is pushing the limits now. I finally got
ahead of the software curve adn am now waiting for it to catch me, not the
other way around. Your thoughts anyone?
