So it's Christmas, The kids are busy unwrapping their presents, The cats
are making Nests in the piles of discarded wrapping paper, I'm deducting
the kitten from halfway up the tree when the wife starts unwrapping her
new HP CM1015

Choruses of oooohhhs and aahhhhsss

A bit later sees me thinking of hiring a small crane as I lug it
upstairs.

10 minutes of pulling various bits of tape off and its plugged in ready
to go. Do a test print from the printer, lovely, do a test scan,
wonderful. Fire up her XP machine, install the software and do a few
test prints. Still good. Set the printer to be shared.

Back down the stairs, deduct kitten from tree, give kids bin bag for
paper, fire up my vista machine.

Install software. Erm, no. Says I'm not an administrator. Erm, i think
you'll find I'm am ! Try all the usual tricks. Still refuses. Do a
search on the net, fruitless. Scratch head deduct kitten from almost at
the top of tree, insert kitten in tall cardboard box ( lid open )

Make coffee, Yell at kids to turn the TV down, go to hp drivers section
and try to decipher which one they want me to use. say nuts to it and
try the all one by one.

The most likely is universal print driver so install it in dynamic
mode. when installed search for the printer with the shared printers
option !! find the printer and.............it says its not supported,
erm, pardon me, your own blurb says it is.

Deduct kitten from middle of tree, back in the box, close lid, laugh
evilly !

Try the other two options in the driver, one says it cant find the
printer I've just pointed it at and the other says it cant communicate
with it.

scratch head again, stare at houdini kitten at the top of tree and
remark to the wife how we dont need an angel next year.

HELP !!!!
